Rob Roy and the Trossachs
Single Day Tour
Before Sir Walter Scott wrote "The Lady of the Lake" and "Rob Roy", the beauty of the Trossachs was unknown to the general public.
To this day the area retains it's character as the "rough or bristled territory".
We travel via the Lake of Menteith (Scotland's only Lake and where Mary, Queen of Scots took refuge as a child), to Aberfoyle and Stronachlachar. Time permitting, a short stroll on the Bonnie Banks of Loch Lomond at Inversnaid could be fitted in.
From Stronachlachar you can sail on Loch Katrine to Trossachs Pier where you will meet your guide once more - he has to drive round the loch!
Our journey home is by way of Callander and Balquhidder churchyard in Strathyre where we can visit the grave of Rob Roy... was he a Highland hero or a Lowland outlaw?
