Arran, Islay and Jura
Multi-Day Tour

If you like the sea and islands this is perhaps the trip for you. Depending on the timing of your tour, a day excursion to Colonsay may be possible - the boat only goes once a week!

Day 1
The first part of our journey is to the Clyde coast port of Ardrossan from where we take the ferry to Brodick on Arran.

Although quite rare, whales and basking sharks have been seen off Arran, so with luck... We shall explore the Lowland south and the Highland north of this delightful island, known as `Scotland in Miniature`, including a visit to Brodick Castle and Gardens.

Day 2
Our point of departure from Arran is Lochranza, with its 15th Century castle on a spit of land in the sea loch. A short crossing to Kintyre connects to Kennacraig and the ferry to Islay.

This lovely island, famous for its birdlife, towering cliffs and beautiful sandy beaches has much to offer any visitor. And who could forget the world-famous distilleries - there are 8 of them!

Places of historic interest abound, such as stone circles and iron-age forts.

Day 3
Jura is quite different from its southern neighbour, being much more rugged and barren.

Crossing at Feolin Ferry, we will travel as far as possible up the east coast (the only road on the island) before having a short walk with magnificent views over to the Argyllshire coast.

It was at the remote northern tip of Jura, overlooking Corryvreckan Whirlpool, that George Orwell wrote his vision of the future "1984."

Day 4
Because of ferry departure times, our final day is quite a long one as we head home by way of Lochilphead, Loch Fyne and the Bonnie Banks O' Loch Lomond.
